For the last month of the year we saw an increases in numbers across the board including an increase in total sales volume in existing condos, townhomes and also an increase in detached homes compared to last month. December posted a 13.31% increase in detached homes and posted a 5.5% increase in attached (condos, and townhomes) single family properties when compared to total sales volume in November 2012. When compared to those in December of 2011, detached homes posted again a double digit increase of 29.63% and also attached homes posted a 26.98% increase in sales volume.
Year-to-Date Median sale prices ended up also higher from those of December of 2011 to close the year for detached homes at $384,000 a 5.2% increase and again higher for condos and townhomes at $229,000 an 11.16% increase.
As a reminder, the above numbers represent condos and detached homes that closed escrow during the month of December 2012 and have actually been taken of the market during October or November 2012.
