Yesterday, while I was trying to analyze the extremely low number of detached single family home sales that was reported by SDAR (San Diego Association of Realtors) for December 2007, I could not get their numbers to equal those I kept getting through the MLS database while performing custom searches. So I called SDAR to double check the numbers that were posted in their website for Realtor and media access.
Sure enough this morning I received a call along with the following email from SDAR:
Sandicor did not inform us about their software upgrade. Here are the new statistics which are now online.
Thank you for your email and keep me informed if you see anything else that looks incorrect.
As a result SDAR’s home sale report for December 2007 was understated by a whopping 30%.
SDAR has updated and published the revised report for San Diego real estate sold in December 2007 and also has issued a press release to the media informing them for the error.
