Mar. 1 – 44th Annual Sue Krenn 15K Run/Walk
Sue Krenn enjoyed running and walking for pleasure and exercise. In her memory, you can challenge yourself as Sue did by engaging in a 15k run/walk at East Mission Bay. Running/walking are always good ways to keep in shape and stay healthy.

Mar. 1 – 60th Annual Ocean Beach Kite Festival & Craft Fair
Families in the community of Ocean Beach can enjoy a kite festival that is known as the oldest kite festival in the United States. The event offers carnival rides for children, home-made crafts, music, hotdogs, popcorn, and punch. This event is in conjunction with the “Ocean Beach Kite Parade”.

Mar. 1 – Circus Vargas (Mira Mesa)
Come and enjoy the excitement of a circus with illustrious human and animal stars rendering artistic triumphs and thrilling exploits. See silly clowns, trampoline acrobats, a balancing act, aerial ballet, teeterboard spectacle, dog & cat performances, and more.

Mar. 1 – Robert Egger South Bay Recreation Center Carnival
Have some fun! Bring your family and friends to a carnival at Robert Egger South Bay Recreation Center. Attractions include traditional carnival rides and games, a Fun Factory for activities, snacks, a photo novelty booth to capture a memory, and a giant inflatable slide for thrills.

Mar. 1 – Winter Carnival at Memorial Park
Everyone can have a fun time at this carnival. It will be held at Memorial park. The main attractions are challenging carnival games and thrilling carnival rides. Snack food will be available.

Mar. 2 – Family Festival
Enjoy FREE admission to the museum of Art plus a festival outside. Today, the focus is on cultures of India. Amid music and costumed dance performances, you’ll enjoy visions of art, storytelling, and hands-on activities.

Mar. 2 – Little Italy Spring Stickball
A game of stickball will be played in Little Italy. It’s traditional origin is from Italy where youths play the game on neighborhood streets as a recreational sport.

Mar. 2 – MDA Stride and Ride
A 5K walking event at West Mission Bay welcomes persons with strollers, wheelchairs, handcycles, and persons on foot. Stride and ride! Participants are encouraged to obtain pledges and help raise fund for Muscular Dystrophy programs and services.

Mar. 6 – Mira Mesa H.S. Boosters Carnival
It’s carnival time! It’s time to have some fun with thrilling carnival rides, challenging carnival games, a giant inflatable slide, a Fun Factory for creative activities, snacks, and a portrait novelty booth to make memories.

Mar. 8 – Guacamole Bowl Cook-Off Contest
Teams will come together and use their own recipes to whip up bowls of guacamole that will be entered in a contest for the best tasting one.

Mar. 8 – San Diego Resolution Run
Beginning with a pre-race expo at Mission Bay, this event offers 5K, 10K, and 15K races.

Mar. 8 – Walk for Kids
You are welcome to join a 5K sponsorship walk at East Mission Bay where the proceeds will provide mental health, educational, and social services for over 1,200 children and adolescents throughout San Diego.

Mar. 9 – Fiesta Island Time Trial Series
Cyclists are coming together to Fiesta Island to compete at cycling. The event offers professional, recreational, and young riders an ideal location to experience competitive cycling in a safe and controlled environment.

Mar. 12 – 13th Annual Cesar Chavez March
Elementary school children, parents, and teachers from Cesar Chavez Elementary School will march through the community of Southcrest in honor and remembrance of Cesar Chavez.

Mar. 13 – Senior Dance Shamrock Shuffle
Seniors can come alone or bring a sweetheart or friend to dance for an Irish celebration of St. Patrick’s Day.

Mar. 13 – St. Patrick’s 10K & 2/4-Mile
Participants are encouraged to wear an Irish costume or something green to this athletic event celebrating St. Patrick’s Day.

Mar. 15 – 13th Annual Youth Fitness Expo
An exciting fitness expo will be held at Balboa Park where children can have a full day of fun.

Mar. 15 – 28th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Festival
Wear something green when you come to enjoy the festivities in a Celtic Village (Ireland 1,000 years ago).

Mar. 15 – Recycle Auto Waste
City of San Diego at-home mechanics can take advantage of this offer. Items such as used oil, antifreeze, oil filters, and auto batteries will be collected for recycling.

Mar. 17 – 11th Annual ShamROCK
St. Patrick’s Day will be celebrated at an adult (age 21+) block party where you can click your heels together and enjoy a delightful evening of festive fun. You and your Leprechaun
can indulge in wonderful Irish music, food, green beer, and costumed performance.

The Persian New Year takes place on the last Tuesday of the Iranian calendar. On our calendar, that would be this date!

Mar. 20 – 33rd Annual Senior Talent Show
You’re welcome to come and watch a talent show where the contestants are professional and amateur seniors (age 50+). Performance will offer instrumental, vocal, dance, variety, and group entertainment.

Mar. 21 – 17th Annual Good Friday Walk
A religious procession will proceed along downtown streets stopping at various institutions commemorating Jesus’ journey to Calvary and His solidarity with the suffering.

Mar. 22 – 13th Easter Bonnet Parade & Hat Contest
Children and adults can create gorgeous Easter bonnets at a workshop that provides all the glitter and frills.

Mar. 29 – 4th Annual San Diego Race for Autism
About one in 166 children are diagnosed with Autism. The purpose of this 5K run/walk and 1 mile fun walk is to raise funds for programs and services for autistic children in San Diego. Families, teams, and individuals are encouraged to participate.

Mar. 30 – 12th Annual Rolando Street Fair
Residents of Rolando can meet their neighbors at this festival that promotes a community unity. Amid musical entertainment, there will be a rock climbing wall, amusing rides, and many booths offering food, merchandise, educational material, and information about health services.

Mar. 30 – Persian New Year Nature Day
A Persian culture picnic that celebrates nature takes place on the 13th day of the Iranian calendar. On our calendar, that would be today! In celebration to be in harmony with nature, families are encouraged to bring a picnic lunch and socialize outdoors. There will also be DJ music and dancing.
