East Village San Diego Real Estate
Known for its more famous establishment, the San Diego Padres’ Petco Park, real estate developments in this largest district of downtown San Diego has been rapid. It is the last among all the districts of downtown to be developed. The Ballpark district has gone through a vast transformation that began in 1992 from a crime infested and deteriorated area in the 80s to a modern, sleek and safe neighborhood of today.
Aside from the Petco Park project, there are at least 20 more projects planned for East Village where some have been completed and others are currently being built.
Some of these projects are the East Village Square, the new Main Library, parking spaces, office spaces, entertainment and a retail center to the north of Petco Park, a promenade, hotels and other accommodations, residential units, picnic areas and parks.
The residential real estate of charming lofts is complemented equally with commercial businesses and services. A San Diego Arts district with galleries, studios, homes for artists and more has been developed in this district giving it a more sophisticatedly modern atmosphere.
Other establishments to give this new district a more youthful feel are San Diego City College, two high schools and The New School of Architecture.
